The memories of that day are still fresh in my mind when my mom reprimanded me for not calling my watchman .."uncle". The other day as I was taking a stroll in my neighborhood, I saw a similar scene to the one in my childhood, just the script of the characters were slightly changed. The kid was a kindergarten student from one of the many international schools in the city. He was yelling at the watchman for not helping him with his bag while his mother proudly watched on from a distance of about 5 yards. Though amusing initially, the incident left me slightly disturbed.I expected the mother to correct the kid for his rude behaviour and tell him to speak to elders in a polite way. But, the lady in question was so blinded by her son's mischief that all she could do was to gift him a chocolate and applaud him for his amazing way of asking for help.
The child, no doubt would be good in his studies and get into a very big software firm. But when he yells the same way at his girl as he did to the watchman will the young lady put up with his unruly behaviour. In our quest to master many a science are we leaving behind the essential courtesies which are the footprints of education??
Man is distinguished for apes by his behaviour,
the evolution is going back oh! my saviour!
To greet a teacher, the students stand,
in the world of internet, it is banned
Farm to fork as they say,
reduced to "hands at work"(pizza) with gay.
Inviting your friends home was good,
farmville invitation is now all you could.
Courting has been the key to life,
saying sorry is forgotten even to your wife.
Said someone all good things end they meet,
Changing courtesies-the new trend is today's tweet.
